Welcome

This 15-page document contains tips on how to reduce

kitchen waste and save money.

This storybook is a short story about a girl who enjoys gardening and growing her own vegetables - there is a simple salad recipe included at the end of the book!

This document includes detailed Lesson Plans for any age that includes appetizers, main dishes, salads and a few desserts that are all plant-based and packed with nutrition. There are also learning suggestions at the end of each lesson plan that includes the following topics: science, history, and agriculture questions, nutrition, culinary skills, food science, kitchen art projects and engaging assignments that may overlap with school standards. This would also work well as self-taught modules for home-based students. These lesson plans could be utilized for grade school age and up, and adults as well. .

This primer is packed full of information on how to design a custom youth or adult food education program that fits your organization or camp's specific needs. I hope that it helps educators, chefs and parents to feel empowered to develop unique programs for different demographics including special needs / disabled / medically fragile / marginalized youth who may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn in-person culinary lessons. It's also possible to use this information to create online classes for remote learning!
